Setup

Gather only common or recycled items needed to carefully open the toy's casing and identify each part inside, sorting screws and pieces on a tray. Place the materials beside a simple recording sheet or blank paper, and prepare the Toy Repair Hospital challenge in one working area; no digital device is needed.

Activity

  1. Examine a broken toy with a patient and predict what part might be causing the problem.
  2. Carefully open the toy's casing and identify each part inside, sorting screws and pieces on a tray.
  3. Discover that a part is missing, bent, or different than expected, and improvise a fix using tape or a rubber band.
  4. Discharge the patient with a full demonstration for the toy's owner, explaining what was wrong and how it was fixed.
