Setup

Gather paper bone pieces, reference skeleton cards, trays and clear a small work surface. Read the Dinosaur Bone Puzzle Lab mission aloud, then place the supplies where children can choose and compare them safely.

Activity

  1. Look at a jumbled pile of bone shapes and a reference picture, predicting which bones belong to which part of the body.
  2. Build the dinosaur skeleton by matching and arranging the bone pieces on a tray in the right order.
  3. Test the arrangement against the reference card, discovering two leg bones are swapped, then fix their positions.
  4. Present the completed dinosaur skeleton, naming its major bone groups like a real paleontologist.
