Setup

Gather paper flowers, floor tape, direction cards and clear a small work surface. Read the Bee Communication Dance mission aloud, then place the supplies where children can choose and compare them safely.

Activity

  1. Learn how real bees use movement to tell each other where flowers are, and predict how a dance could point the way.
  2. Design a waggle-dance pattern on the floor that points toward a hidden paper flower patch.
  3. Perform the dance for a partner and discover they head to the wrong flowers, then adjust the pattern for clarity.
  4. Celebrate by having the whole hive follow the perfected dance to collect the full flower haul.
