Food-Truck Systems Challenge
Log in to saveStudents design a mock food-truck menu and workflow, balancing ingredient chemistry, prep-line speed, inventory, and pricing so the truck could actually turn a profit on a busy night. It's a tasty crash course in small-business systems thinking.

Setup
Print or handwrite the four Food-Truck Systems Challenge challenge steps and place common paper supplies on one table. Prepare one small sample, dataset, scenario, or recycled-material model drawn directly from the project description; no device, paid tool, room decoration, or purchased kit is required.
Activity
- Read the Food-Truck Systems Challenge challenge aloud, then design a 3-item menu and predict which dish will be the bottleneck when orders come in fast.
- Use paper, index cards, recycled objects, or facilitator-provided sample data to prep a sample batch of each dish, timing every step and costing out the exact ingredients used.
- Run one tabletop trial and run a mock rush of orders and discover the actual bottleneck, then redesign the prep line or menu to fix it.
- Finish by present a final menu with pricing that covers costs and a target profit margin, explaining the math behind each price; record the evidence that supports the decision.
Done when: The group completes a defensible Food-Truck Systems Challenge solution, records at least one test result or comparison, changes one claim or design in response, and supports its final decision with that evidence.
