Setup

Place common or recycled supplies for Mystery Ecosystem Escape Room on one work surface and choose a safe area for the test. Read the four activity directions aloud; drawings, paper models, and household substitutes may replace specialized materials, and no digital tool is required.

Activity

  1. Read the mystery scenario and predict which ecosystem relationship might explain the sudden change described.
  2. Build the food-web map using string to connect animal and plant cards as clues are unlocked one by one.
  3. Test each theory against the evidence cards, then revise the food-web map when a new clue contradicts an earlier guess.
  4. Present the solved mystery to the group, explaining the chain of cause and effect that disrupted the ecosystem.
