Setup

Place common or recycled supplies for Cryptid Camera-Trap Field Station on one work surface and choose a safe area for the test. Read the four activity directions aloud; drawings, paper models, and household substitutes may replace specialized materials, and no digital tool is required.

Activity

  1. Examine the track, habitat, and witness-report evidence, measuring and comparing scale where photos are involved.
  2. Sort the evidence into strong versus weak categories and explain your reasoning for each.
  3. One dramatic photo turns out to have misleading scale or perspective — recalculate what it actually shows and adjust your conclusions.
  4. Design a fair camera-placement map and present your team's most likely explanation with an honest confidence level.
